IIA-Australia is delighted to invite all CSNZ Members, Affiliates and Colleagues to attend the 2012 Asia Pacific Public Sector (APPS) Forum. APPS is the pre-eminent regional event for Public Sector professionals, discussing and providing practical solutions for everyday issues that you face in the public sector. The 8th APPS Forum brings together influential speakers to provide insight, expert guidance and provide delegates the opportunity to participate in panel discussions focusing on internal audit, risk management, compliance and governance in the public sector.
Taking the theme of Driving for better efficiency through greater insight and controls the programme addresses some of the challenges facing the sector such as governments being required to do more with less. The programme focuses on a number of technical and strategic internal audit issues to sharpen the professions aptitude to assist their organisations in effectively achieving the expected efficiency gains.
The two-day programme features two specific streams - technical and strategic audit. The technical stream focuses on addressing specific internal audit issues and methodologies offering practical insights and solutions. The strategic stream highlights some of the future issues facing organisations as well as provide discussions on how the internal audit profession can deliver more insight and value for their agencies. The programme is presented through a mixed format of keynote, technical and masterclass sessions.
The forum provides delegates with theopportunity to gain insights and learn from the experiences of public sector practitioners, internal audit stakeholders and technical experts from both Australia and overseas. Importantly, the APPS Forum enables you to maximise your networking and knowledge-sharing potential as the forum draws attendees from right across the Asia Pacificregion providing a vast knowledge base to share ideas.
The programme for this unique event addresses a variety of issues specific to the public sector including:
- Social media; community engagement balanced with effective governance
- Auditing grant management
- Cyber security and the new Australian Government PSPF Information Security Proposal
The conference will provide delegates with the opportunity to hear from a national line-up of speakers, participate in panel discussions as well as delve into the detail of contemporary audit issues in the masterclass programme.
