History of CSNZ

The Institute is an international professional body with 37,000 members worldwide. It was founded in England in 1891 and granted its Royal Charter in 1902. The New Zealand Division of the Institute was formed in 1937.

ICSA was founded in England in 1891, and granted a Royal Charter in 1902. The New Zealand Division of the Institute, formed in 1937, and has its administrative office in Auckland.

The Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators was initially established to promote and maintain professionalism in the fields of commerce and administration. In line with other Divisions of ICSA it adopted the name Chartered Secretaries New Zealand in 2003. Presently the Chartered Secretaries New Zealand has 1,200 members in New Zealand.
