There are six modules, each of 12 weeks duration. The number and type of modules that you are required to complete are determined by your degree or professional qualification and you should in the first instance familiarize yourself with the entry criteria outlined below.
The modules are:
- Corporate Law
- Corporate Secretaryship
- Corporate Governance
- Corporate Accounting
- Corporate Financial Management
- Corporate Administration
Modules are delivered by distance learning. It is essential that students own or have access to computer equipment so that assignments can be presented in a uniform manner and communication with tutors can be done by e-mail.
Each module is presented to the applicant, self contained, in a folder divided into 12 sections with each section corresponding to one week's reading of a minimum of six hours. Case studies and additional readings are incorporated into each section. Please see the section Course Outlines for more detailed information on the subject areas and learning outcomes covered by each module.
Each module includes contact time at a weekend school. The weekend school is conducted by senior academics, with strong teaching backgrounds. They are assisted by practitioners to provide a balance of actual work-based advice. This weekend school is an opportunity for students to discuss in detail practical case studies relating to the previous sections of study as well as a chance for a personal assessment of progress. Another major benefit of the weekend school is the opportunity to meet with peers from diverse commercial backgrounds, in practical 'hands on' sessions.
It will be necessary for students to purchase the recommended text books and pay for their travel and accommodation costs to attend the weekend school.
